Hot Topics... Complaining
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world...
Philippians 2:14-15 (NKJV)
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)
By complaining, the children of Israel lost their reservation in the Promised Land.

Because griping about hard circumstances is disrespecting the Lord Who allowed them.

If we pause and see our troubles as a test, if this test concerns a subject we must learn, are we not dumb to question the Principal regarding the course of our education?

On the other hand, the world rewards fussers. Masters of complaint get upgrades and refunds. I know, because I grumbled and got them, too.

But now I'm a Christian and must do better. I'm supposed to thank the Lord in everything: in disappointments and even disasters. Because in our weakness He shows Himself strong.

And in our peevishness we show ourselves wrong.

Therein, a Christian who complains is off-Base.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
