Hot Topics... Donald Trump
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NLT)
What topics are hotter than Donald Trump? His words are sharp. They prick, punch and push us. His acts are bold and confrontational.

I know undercover Trump supporters. I know conspicuous Trump opposers. I count people in both groups as my friends.

I count myself as Christ's ambassador. I claim diplomatic immunity, because I'm a citizen of Heaven. The Lord Himself will handle all rulers.

For my kin in similar positions, our Commander has issued clear guidelines:

1) 'Seek peace and pursue it' (Psalm 34:14, NIV). 'If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men' (Romans 12:18, NASB).

2) 'There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One Who is able to save and destroy... Who are you to judge...?' (James 4:12, NIV).

3) 'Everyone must submit to governing authorities... Those in positions of authority have been placed there by God' (Romans 13:1, NLT).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
