Hot Topics... Feminism/Girl Power
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.
If you're reading this Hot Topic Series, you might think I'm liberal. But I'm not. I'm not conservative or independent, either. I'm in God's Party. I'm utterly dependent on Him and believe His Words... completely.
So here's my next NON politically-correct opinion: I'm not into feminism. Strong women? Of course. Female leaders? As God directs.* Male exploiters? I pray they're
exposed and punished in double measure.
But mostly (not always), the Bible shows men in the lead. They are heroes who sacrifice themselves: for God, duty, wives and other people.
Here's the thing: a supporting lady is not a lesser role. Unless we want to say the Greatest Man Who ever lived is lesser. Because Jesus humbly supported us, and women were key to His ministry.
I believe feminism emasculates, and leading men accordingly decrease.
I believe in God Power.
## Hot Topics... Feminism/Girl Power (Part 32)
* My mother, Millie Lewis, was a strong businesswoman, activist and innovator--before it was common for women to lead. She did wonderful things. Some might say I followed in her footsteps, or maybe even enlarged them. Possibly.
But now as a Christian, I see things differently. Many women are thrust into leadership, because the men around them voluntarily exited. Today, everyone wants to lead: husbands, wives and children... leaving few who recognize the grace in following. Christian fallout? Fewer people are willing to fully follow Christ--in the totality God's Word demands. Is following a lost skill? If so, we all lose big.
