Hot Topics... Gender/Bathroom Qs
Don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts...
2 Timothy 2:23-25 (NLT)
Gender identity and bathroom choice are hot topics that caught me by surprise. Perhaps others, too.

Like schools and governments. Like companies, politicians and courts. Our previous standards of how to live have been challenged in passionate debates.

Neither side has won a clear consensus.

By denying transgender bathroom choice, North Carolina lost an All-Star game. By agreeing with transgender bathrooms, Target stores lost customers through boycotts.*

As God directs, I aim to follow laws. But our laws are in flux and confusion. So here's my take:

I have bigger fish to fry than bathrooms: like broadcasting the love of Jesus Christ.

(As a side note... in traveling abroad, I've used bathrooms that were sheds with dirt holes. Compared to many people in this world, Americans live luxurious lives.)

If I'm worried, I'll take my grandchildren with me into a multi-stall bathroom.**

* Outraged shoppers threaten to boycott Target after a man exposes himself to a young girl in a store's bathroom:

** btw: Target has now installed single-person bathrooms in its stores.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
