Hot Topics... Global Warming
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron...*
1 Timothy 4:1-2 (NKJV)
Undoubtedly, greed, carelessness, chemicals and big business (at any cost) have harmed the health of our planet... and our bodies.

God's comparison of people to sheep seems unflattering. Sheep aren't so smart, and we like to think of ourselves as bright and independent.

But we act like sheep in our mindless pursuit of bad leaders, sales gimmicks and short-term gains. Actually, sheep are probably smarter than people in many ways.

Global warming is a hot topic, a debatable subject. Most likely, you have an opinion, and I'd like to hear it... because I'm undecided.

What's not debatable is a man-polluted earth now maiming a growing percentage of its creatures and creations, including God's prized possession: His children.

Also not debatable is the importance of who we follow and what we believe. I believe (whether global warming is by men or nature) that earth is rolling toward a dramatic finale.

Yes, God cares how we treat His planet. He assigned us the role of caretakers. But He cares even more how we treat our neighbors, and He assigned us the role of ambassadors.

If we fulfill that role well, when the end does come, it will be a happy one: where lost sheep are found and reunited with the great Shepherd.

## Hot Topics... Global Warming (Part 33)

* The searing of a conscience requires great heat, which gives global warming a whole new meaning.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
