Hot Topics... Introduction
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives... God uses It to prepare and equip His people.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)
For the Word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword... It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)
Records of the 21st century were previewed by God countless years ago. He understands every modern issue, and nothing that happens surprises Him. Not Russia, China or North Korea. No prince, president or politician. Not even school shootings or media.

God knows our tragedies and temptations. 'That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun' (Ecclesiastes 1:9, NASB).

Therefore, the Bible remains relevant: cutting to the heart of each circumstance and giving invaluable advice.

This devotion series might be called hot, as it discusses unsettling topics. They may bother us or get us heated. They may push us out of our comfort zones.

But should we live a comfortable life? Or shall we meet our trials God's Foot first?

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
