Hot Topics... Politics
For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
Luke 12:2-3 (NKJV)
If Donald Trump is like a lightning rod, then politics now thunder around him. Trump is a polarizing president, shaking fence sitters from the neutral zone.

Consider the figurative meaning of lightning rod: 'A person or thing that is a target for negative reactions and distracts criticism from another target.'

Many people believe President Trump deserves every negative reaction, since his heated mouth sparks controversy. Could he be a distracting decoy, drawing criticism meant for someone else? Who could it be?

Supernaturally speaking: Satan. Physically speaking: us, and our own...

Materialism. Problematic pride. Loose morality. Group complacency. Church hypocrisy.

Did Trump untie our well-wrapped packages, revealing things we didn't want to see?

Are politics just a mirror of us? Did God allow these shocking exposes, so we could catch a good glimpse of ourselves?

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
