Hot Topics... Religions: Other
have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My Voice; and they will become one flock with one Shepherd.
John 10:16 (NASB)
I permitted myself to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, 'Here am I, here am I.'
Isaiah 65:1 (NASB)
Christianity is the world's largest religion, followed closely by Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Only one claims a Savior Who was raised from the dead, but every faith declares itself to be true and right.

I grew up in a cultural Christian family, but I left that social club and became a Buddhist. My brother (now deceased) was a Buddhist for decades. But not me. I didn't find the Answer I needed.

Years later, I found Christ, and I was eager to learn. So I searched the Bible with heartfelt questions, including these: What happens to good people from other religions...? People who live sacrificing lives to help others...?

I found it hard to accept they were destined for hell. My resolutions are detailed in the link below,* but I ask my Christian kin to consider two points:

1) We shouldn't presume to know the fate of outsiders. They can meet Jesus and profess Him while they're dying. The sinner hanging next to Him on a cross proves it.**

2) We represent Christ best in the fruit of His Spirit. These delightful appetizers are cross-cultural. People of other faiths will notice and be impressed.***

** Luke 23:39-43:

*** 'The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!' (Galatians 5:22-23 NLT).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
