Hot Topics... School: Sex Education
Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
2 Timothy 2:22 (NLT)
The world's version of sex education is birth control and disease prevention. The Lord's version of sex education is self control and ravage prevention.

Because misguided passion ravages. It harms hearts, lives, purpose and lasting joy.

So what's the answer for Christian parents whose children run the course through public schools? My own grandchildren are therein enrolled.

1) Christian schools? Maybe, but I've been told by many grads that sex is often discussed and indulged.

2) Home school? Maybe, if you have the time and skill set. Most home-school kids have rock-solid values.

Whatever your education choices, good parents must teach tough subjects at home... such as love and sex, clearly and early. Because if you don't, other people will.

Here's the thing: Most kids are reasonable. If you discuss hot topics directly, from both worldly and godly perspectives, you're instilling both wisdom and knowledge.

But if you don't touch all the sex bases, the world is happy to fill in the blanks.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
