How To Enter Hollywood
To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might win Jews... to those who are without law, as without law... so that I might win those who are without law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some.
1 Corinthians 9:20-22 (NAS)
Jesus set the precedent for approaching people of other cultures when He spoke to the woman at the well about water (see John 4:7-42). He met her where she was and talked about something had in common: thirst. Their conversation went from water, to her life, to God, and finally to His revelation as the Messiah.

From that encounter and 'from that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman' (John 4:39).

The Apostle Paul became a star disciple, a fierce debater, and a role model of how to meet non-believers on common ground. He traveled to many cities, including Athens and Rome, lifting thousands of souls to Christ. His legacy has grown to hundreds of millions. How did he convince them?

He lived among them and spoke words they understood. When the time was right, he told them about Jesus. He was a Greek to the Greeks, a Jew to the Jews, weak to the weak, and all things to all people, so that he could, 'by all means save some.' Paul spent most of His life with Christ in foreign cultures.

Just like Jesus and Paul, actors, models and talent for Christ should enter Hollywood on common ground. You have a lot to discuss with the citizens and authorities in the kingdom of entertainment, such as auditions, coaches, agents, successes and temptations.

You are an actor among actors, a model among models, and a most excellent friend to all. Therein you become an ambassador for Christ before you even speak His Holy Name.

The time will come to give glory where glory is due.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
