Hurry Up And Wait (Part 6)
Till you are left as a pole on top of a mountain
And as a banner on a hill.
Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
Isaiah 30:17-18 (NKJV)
In the Kingdom of God, waiting is active, not passive. It is a deliberate move, not an accidental groove. It's a place to grow tall, not a declining pitfall. It's invigorating, not frustrating. The truth about waiting has been covered by the mudslide of media.

While dark stars in cunning ads say, 'now, now, now,' to Satan's schemes we bow, bow, bow. In believing his lie, we fall from God's sky--and end up wrestling in the mud pit of the 21st century. We try to get a hand out and a foot up only to slip back with a grumpy shout:

'I want my stuff now. I want my success now. I've been waiting an hour, a day, a week, a month, a year... This is ridiculous.' Unfortunately, many of God's children buy into Satan's dream exploder, a.k.a. impatience. They buy into the myth of instant gratification. They buy into bondage.

But Jesus came to set the captives free, and He's using His rising stars to do it. How? By leading them up the mountain of media: the very mountain from which the mud slides. How is that possible?

'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible' (Matthew 19:26). Therefore, don't buy into enemy propaganda. 'Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God' (Romans 12:2).

It's God's will that you wait on Him. It's God's will that you rise with Him.

You rise on screens and stages that cover the earth. You are actors, models and talent for Christ. As you climb this mountain of media, you become the 'Visible image of the invisible God' (Colossians 1:15). You are His stand-ins and supporting cast.

Your job is to reflect the Son, to show the Way, to speak the Truth, to clear the path and to lift His standard.

But to become a star God's way, you must know how to 'wait.'

Only then can you become ready.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
