If Faith Comes By Hearing... (Part 1)
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Romans 10:17 (NKJV)
If faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, then our ears must be open to receive it. Only God can open deaf ears, 'and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped' (Isaiah 35:5).
When we were called into His service and said 'Yes!', we were given supernatural hearing.
Our ears turned to Him, and His to us. However, Satan has a big bad cop radio tuned into every frequency, and He seeks to fill our ears with everything but God's Word. Jesus reminds us to be 'very attentive to hear Him' (Luke 19:48).
How? We listen to the spoken Word from our own lips, from pastors, small groups, and Christian media. We fill our ears, heads, and hearts with the greatest power, passion, and promises in the universe. The result? An increase of faith.
And when our faith increases, we can move mountains, walk on water, and break down walls. We can be healed--even walk on scorpions, 'and nothing by any means shall hurt' (Luke 10:19) us. We can be peaceful, prosperous, and loving.
We can sing, dance, act, and model fearlessly. We can win auditions against the odds. We can outlast the competition. We can wait on God when others give up, because we know victory is only a matter of time.
