I will destroy their counsel, and they will consult the idols and the charmers, the mediums and the sorcerers.
For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because there is no shepherd.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
At the end Galatians 5, we find two behavior lists: one is bad and the other is good; one is the fruit of evil, and the other is the fruit of the Spirit.* In the Bible, idolatry and sorcery are linked. You can hardly have one without the other, which makes perfect sense, considering Scripture. God keeps our choices simple, not subtle.
'I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live' (Deuteronomy 30:19). Inherently, if man has no power, then we receive power from one of two sources: God or Satan.** Satan heads the occult division.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: In my B.C. years, I used to watch occult TV shows, like Charmed and Buffy. When Harry Potter hit earth's stage, the number of delightful devils in media multiplied, like fireworks on the fourth of July. Today, they're everywhere, even on Disney and Nickelodeon. Consider darling demons and beautiful beasts to be vaccine inoculations: our children become desensitized to potential dangers. Like idol worship.***
To be successful in the entertainment industry, you must be flexible. But on key issues, like idol worship or accepting roles that glamorize sorcery, I believe you must be inflexible. Upon close examination, I find no agreement between God and the occult. It's not 'sometimes' or 'sort of' okay.
Therefore, don't sacrifice your witness to dance with the devil--not even for a minute. Because a small jig can open a big jag. 'Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter' (Isaiah 5:20).

** As a Man, Jesus said, 'I can of Myself do nothing' (John 5:30). If He had no supernatural power outside of God, or even no power at all, neither do we.
** Jesus makes it clear that Satan has the temporary right to give men power: 'And the devil said to Him, 'All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours' ' (Luke 4:6-7).
