Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God.
I'm not comfortable with the word, s_x, in any context outside of gender, because that's what it was created to mean.
Much later, lovemaking got in the mix - broadening the definition beyond gender and outside the ties of marriage. God labeled this s_x as fornication, adultery and immorality.
But in our rules-barred, pleasure-seeking world, God's Words seem like repressive legalism; therein, our lawless earth likes easy s_x, as long as the parties involved agree and no one is harmed by doing the deed.
But aren't people harmed by teen pregnancy, abortion, broken vows and STDs? Add to this hard mix legions of lovers who are shipwrecked by noncommittal s_x.
Can such massive numbers of personal and societal fractures be ignored? They can, when we turn our eyes, ears and hearts away from God toward selfish desires.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: One show, Counting On,* stars young people who love God and His rules of marriage. Their stories are fresh and appealing. On the other side are countless shows portraying easy s_x as normal: the way all kids should want to grow up.
How better can you serve King Jesus than as attractive ambassadors...
Of a love so rich you won't waste it?
Of a love so true you won't fake it?
Of a love so strong you can't break it?
To offer fans more stories and stars stemming from the world's greatest Lover.
Not to condemn, but to illustrate...
Love not found in a convenience store:
Love that's not cheap, bartered or traded,
But given by priceless sacrifice,
And worth more than shallow men can pay.

NOTE: This is a republished edit of a 2016 devotion series, 'Judgment.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Every disciple in every field performs for Christ. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.' Mostly true. But you're not 'merely players.' You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Judgment 2020 series.
