Judgment (Part 34)
Mass Shootings
You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place...
Matthew 24:6 (NASB)
Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence...
Proverbs 10:12 (NKJV)
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then...
Ephesians 6:13-14 (NIV)*
The horror of mass shootings and bombings is now uncomfortably familiar. Clearly, the Lord told us to expect wars, and terrorism brings those wars close to home. Unsuspecting people are targeted, because stimulating our deepest fears through unconscionable acts is the plan.

Even so, don't get scared and don't be fooled. The perps may look like villainous soldiers. Yet, 'Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places' (Ephesians 6:12).

Regarding religious extremists, Jesus pre-announced their arrival:

'The time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me' (John 16:2-3).

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Media's role as earth's town crier fuels the fire from the dragon's mouth. From TV's full-blown, non-stop broadcast comes a desperately bad outcome; hopeless bullies desire the same fame: a notorious exit from life.

And believers who should know better... react to the heat like outsiders.

Instead of kneeling at God's power, dumbstruck eyes stay glued to Satan's hour. Instead of believing what God said, they trust a CNN talking head. Instead of marching into the fight, unarmed saints cower in shrinking fright.

Yet you, God's Own wartime reporters, can use media as your pulpit--not just to declare your trust in God, not just to support the victims and their kin, but to encourage the faint-hearted and rally God's troops to push forward.
