Lady Warrior #2, Nise Davies
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:11 (NIV)
The joy of the Lord is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10 (NASB)
The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
Number two of three powerful ladies who helped me find Christ is Nise Davies,* a well-known Christian Casting Director and Senior VP of Arbonne, International.

Years before, she was a talent agent, finding and developing future stars. Before that, Nise was a star herself.

During AMTC's earlier years, she was one of our favorite clients: and not just because of her excellence, but more because of her obvious joy. No problem or trouble could bring her down.

Here's the thing: Nise talked about her faith, but she knew (and still knows) how to mix well with outsiders. She's never preachy or condescending, but persistently smiling and helpful.

Nise didn't wave a born-again flag, but we clearly knew she was a Christian. Years before my girls and I took the plunge, consider one thing we said about her:

'We don't know about born-again Christians... but they sure are happy a lot!'

Consistent confidence and lasting joy are undeniably good calling cards. I'm still an understudy of Nise. I want to copy those... who model Him.

Thank-you, Nise!

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
