You excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness...
She was admired by everyone who saw her.
In late November of 2006, I was moping in a mountain cabin: a burned-out, 51-one-year-old loner. My girls had grown up, my husband had left, my assistant had retired and my business (AMTC) suffered.
So when a client named Donna Groff called, ever so gently she voiced her concern: 'Carey, can I send you a book or two?...'
What could I say, but yes? Nevertheless, I forgot about it and assumed Donna would also forget.
But no. Donna is super-organized: a deep, true and lovely woman of God. If faith without works is dead, then Donna showed her faith by her works (sending the books). When they came, I felt obliged to read them. Then I became like a deer at a spring.
One was Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer, and the battles she shared sounded like mine. More to the point, I opened a Bible. Through God, my ears, eyes and heart were opened.
Thank you, Donna! If my B.C. life was a baseball game, Jesus sent you to the mound as His closer. You struck out Satan and helped win the game.
Through Rachel's peace, Nise's joy and Donna's follow through--each one representing Christ, I escaped from Satan's deadly gotcha. I found Jesus, and He accepted me.
Lesson? Believe in the power of your witness, even when you can't see the outcome.
What God accomplished through these three ladies (and the transformation they ignited)... led to repercussions beyond our dreams.
