Leadership: Fervent
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
James 5:16 (NKJV)
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My Mouth. Because you say, 'I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,' and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked... Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.
Revelation 3:15-17,19 (NASB)
If 'Our God is a Consuming Fire' (Hebrews 12:29), if His Holy Spirit is as 'Tongues of Fire' (Acts 2:3), if Jesus prayed 'Very fervently' (Luke 22:44), if we are 'Being transformed into the same Image from glory to glory...' (2 Corinthians 3:18), if glory can mean glowing, then we must be fervent, too.

Because God is the Definition of fervor.* He loves us so intensely, 'That He gave His one and only Son' (John 3:16) to be crucified that we might be lifted--into eternal joy.

How can we be lukewarm in response? How can we be other than passionately thankful?

Actors, models and talent for Christ: 'Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord' (Romans 12:11).

Be hot. Be all in. God demands it. So does Hollywood. Even more, fervor is contagious. It's a flying flag of leadership.

So stand up and be counted. Speak up and be heard. Smile up and be thankful. Light up the world with His talent.

A moderate and measured life may seem safe in the eyes of lackluster kin, but in His Book, the neutral zone is never safe. You may end up on the back of a dirty tow truck--pulled to a place you never expected.

Even more, neither moderate nor measured describe the Character of God. He is exceeding and immeasurable.

So put forth your best effort. Give Him everything you've got. Be fervent.**
