Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
Back at the beginning of the Bible, back at the creation of Planet Earth, back at the start of life as we know it... we're presented with the basic purpose of actors, models, and talent for Christ: the separation of light from darkness.
Since Adam and Eve's fall and eviction, the world got twisted with the wrong side up. This deception began with a serpent, and it concluded with the Lamb of God.
Jesus paid the price to keep the Light on... permanently for God's chosen people (who also choose to believe in His Son).
Because confusion had reigned long enough.
'Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness' (Isaiah 5:20).
'In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers...' (2 Corinthians 4:4).
When movies were born and quickly grew up, people enjoyed the new entertainment. They were carried to all sorts of places and witnessed all sorts of intriguing things.
But in what now seems a skinny minute, the eyes of uncountable cameras exploded into uncountable eyes, presently glued to uncountable screens.
'But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!' (Matthew 6:23).
Nevertheless, God allows this darkness as a backdrop for His Light to arrive, so His children could learn the difference.
'I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them' (Isaiah 42:16).
Following closely behind the true Light come actors, models & talent for Christ.
## Light From Darkness: The Separation (Part 1)
NOTE: This is a 2021 update of a 2011 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
