Lights, Camera, Action (Part 1)
Lights
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day.
1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 (NKJV)
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
Ephesians 5:8 (NKJV)
In the lights, camera, and action business, actors, models, and talent for Christ are lights: you are 'Children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world' (Philippians 2:15).

Your heritage, ministry, and mission are clear, as are the fields to which you are assigned: arts, entertainment, and media. Certainly your Commander-in-Chief will not send you into vital communication stations without clear orders. The first order in 1 Thessalonians 5 is two-fold:

Value your time and know your identity.

'The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light' (Romans 13:12). 'Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation' (2 Corinthians 6:2). Jesus says, 'Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming' (Matthew 24:42).

Every day is a gift, an opportunity, and a duty. 'Now' is your timetable.

Your identity is not determined by SAG, AFTRA, ASCAP, IMDB, IBDB, or models(dot)com. It is not confirmed by your publicist, biography, tear sheets, or awards. God has already named you. It is a 'New name written which no one knows except him who receives it' (Revelation 2:17), 'Because your names are written in Heaven' (Luke 10:20).

But this much we know now:

You are 'The light of the world' (Matthew 5:14), 'The sons of light' (Luke 16:8), 'The saints of light' (Colossians 1:12), a 'Witness of the Light' (John 1:7), 'A light to the Gentiles' (Acts 13:47), 'A light to those who are in darkness' (Romans 2:19), and 'A light that shines in a dark place' (2 Peter 1:19).

Significantly, 'Light' in the Old Testament refers only to God. 'Light' in the New Testament refers also to God's children. Jesus called us His light. We must carry it forward.
