Test all things; hold fast what is good.
Auditions are tests. You are testing for a role, a part, a show, or a song. You are judged by industry professionals who may or may not 'pass' you. Most likely, you'll 'fail' on the majority of auditions. Therein are your faith, confidence, patience, and godly fortitude tested. Not only tested, but displayed.
The result of your audition is far less important than your reaction to it. To lose or to win gives you an opportunity to display the character of Jesus, which becomes a 'test'imony. Not only is the casting director testing you, you are testing him, the role, and the job.
As a Christian in the entertainment industry, you face important choices on a daily basis. Are you a light in a dark place? If so, you're on a holy mission. Yet, you must remember to act like Jesus and do nothing to cast a poor reflection on Him. That's the 'hold fast to what is good' part.
If you have a great agent, client, director, or mentor who respects you and promotes your career in a positive way, hold fast.
Truly, everything is a test. After college I remember thinking, 'Gee, I'm glad I don't have to take any more tests.' I couldn't have been more wrong.
'God tested Abraham' (Genesis 22:1) and He has 'Tested us' (Psalm 66:10). The testing is not just to see how we'll do (He knows), but to teach us. 'You have refined us as silver is refined' (Psalm 66:10). Silver is refined in fire.
So, the next time you are frustrated in the audition process by adversaries or adverse circumstances, thank God. Not only are you being refined, you are being shined. In His light, you will succeed.
Top sales experts say, 'Sales is a numbers game.' Keep auditioning. Top life Expert, Jesus Christ, says, 'But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony' (Luke 21:13). Keep auditioning.
