Love... Is Abiding
Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
John 15:9 (NASB)
And I have made Your Name known to them and will continue to make It known, so that the love You have for Me may be in them, and I in them.
John 17:26 (NASB)
'What a quiet, blessed home that is for us! The image, I suppose, that underlies all this sweet speech in these last hours, about dwelling in Christ, in His joy, in His words, in His peace, and the like, is that of some safe house, into which going, we may be secure. And what sorrow or care or trouble or temptation would be able to reach us if we were folded in the protection of that strong love...?' (MacLaren's Exposition on John 15:9).*

Abiding in Christ (Love) is a theme in the Book of John. Abiding in Him, as a branch of The Vine, produces fruit. Good fruit. Traveling fruit. Internationally appreciated fruit for a very hungry audience.

Including love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.**

Abiding in Christ (Love) also produces security: building our lives on Rock-solid security: 'The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall' (Matthew 7:25, NASB).

In other words, our foundational joy, peace and safety will not crumble--no matter what we encounter... if we abide in the almighty, everlasting God.

Therefore, we love.

## Love Series: Love Is Abiding (Part 25)

** But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law' (Galatians 5:22-23, NASB).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
