Love... Is Courageous
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18 (NIV)
'Lord, save us! We are perishing!

But He said to them, 'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?'
Matthew 8: 25-26 (NKJV)
Christians are called to show storm-denying, death-defying, fear-decrying courage. Because we are spiritual soldiers. Because our Great Captain already won--and our future is already assured.

If He won, then why do we have to fight?

1) Because Jesus gave us a clean-up job: cleaning up a confusing smear campaign, causing His sheep to wander from the Truth.

2) We do not fight people or governments. Instead, we resist demonic powers who hold victims captive in cruel ways.

3) So we circle earth in courageous love, helping everyone we can every day--by spreading hope, light and the best of news.

4) We do not cower in homes or churches, fearing failure or trials on God's path, because the greater risk is cowardice.

Therefore, we love.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
