Love... Is Covering
Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 (NASB)
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all transgressions.
Proverbs 10:12 (NASB)
You forgave the iniquity of Your people; You covered all their sin.
Psalm 85:2 (NASB)
When we commit to Jesus as our Savior, His Blood cleanses us and covers us. It's a merciful miracle. It's a marvelous mystery.

We thank Him without fully understanding the process--or the cost. But we know it was high, we know it was hard, we know we are saved... and safe.

That being said...

Every time we think an ugly thought, fret over something, envy someone's stuff, say an unkind word, make a selfish move, sneak a naughty look, buy too many things, skip a commitment, refuse to forgive, tell the smallest lie, spread idle gossip, call a man a fool, overfill ourselves, glorify ourselves or sin 'a little'...

We are unworthy... again. But Jesus keep covering us... again and again, because His love has no borders.

How can we repay Him? We can't. But we can copy Him. Instead of exposing others, we can cover them with borderless love.

Therefore, we love.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
