Love... Is Fruitful
The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God's Word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!
Matthew 13:23 (NLT)
The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
If the Seed is God's Word, if the soil is a heart, then the Great Gardener has a wonderful plan.

God's children will become His trees of righteousness: placed in green pastures, rooted in the Truth, washed by the Water and grown in the Light.

By both nature and nurture, Christians are meant to bear fruit.

Yet bearing fruit is not a choice or decision. It doesn't happen from the tree's sincerest work. For saints, fruitfulness comes from abiding in Christ: a miracle God designed to nourish others.

When we walk in love, smile sincerely, radiate peace, wait patiently, speak in kindness, show God's goodness, remain faithful, treat men gently and use self-control...

We offer the fruit of the Spirit. Hungry people eat and desire more. How better to present the Gospel?

Therefore, we love.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
