Love... Is God's Law
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest Commandment. And the Second is like It: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two Commandments.
Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)
Love is the fulfillment of the Law.
Romans 13:10 (NIV)
Studying the Bible is a never-ending pursuit. I can't reach the bottom or top of It. Going left to right is a circle.

Its wisdom is unfathomable. My enlightenment is incremental. It pulls me up, but keeps me grounded. If I hold the course, It keeps me straight. Without It, I am lost.

This being said, men debate God's Word ceaselessly. If the debates are sincere and respectful (not proud or hateful), deliberation can be good.*

But one unhappy occurrence of commitment to Christ has been my exposure to interdenominational condemnation, intellectual elitism and fancy words to describe different opinions.

It's like religion on steroids. Puffed up. Covering sickness.

That being said, Jesus wins every debate with one simple word, one profound action and one summary command: LOVE.

Love is the top, bottom and middle line. It's the straight, great and fine line. It's everything but a flat line.

Therefore we love.

## Love Series: Love Is God's Law (Part 43)

* 'Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true' (Acts 17:11, NIV).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
