Love... Is Impartial
I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.
Acts 10:34 (NLT)
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 5:28 (NLT)
You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not fear man, for the judgment is God's.
Deuteronomy 1:17 (NASB)
People are partial to prejudice.

Many prefer the spin over the truth, the rich over the poor, the proud over the meek, the fair over the plain, the head over the heart, the perk over the work, the treat over the meat, the look over the Book and the pew over the path.

Most choose the sure-shot over the long-shot, the fast track over the long haul, the mansion over the cottage, the tough guy over the nice nerd, the senator over the janitor and golden calf over the Crucified.

Equally tempting is cultural bias.

But Christians serve an equal opportunity Savior. Clearly, by Word and deed, He shows us who and how to love. (Answer: everyone in every way). If we call ourselves Christians, we must follow our Leader... and love unconditionally.

Therefore, we love.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
