Love... Is Liberating
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

For He has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,

That the blind will see,

That the oppressed will be set free,

And that the time of the Lord's favor has come.
Luke 4:18-19 (NLT)
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:13 (NKJV)
Jesus was a freedom Fighter, and He won the war of the world. His unusual weaponry was an unforeseen strategy: a constant bombardment of love.

During His three-year love campaign, He won every single battle. At the end was His biggest move. Submission was His greatest strength.

When the veil between God and men tore open by His sacrifice, the curtain fell on Satan's reign.

Jesus loved straight through His Own death to a surprise resurrection. He expanded His victory to include all true followers.

We were freed from Satan's chokeholds: golden chains and sweat-covered ropes; pretty lies and horrible ties that kept us locked into death row.

Now we are freedom fighters, too. Until Jesus comes back to earth, our foe still rules most of mankind. For them, we fight relentlessly.

Therefore, we love.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
