Love... Never Fails
Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:12-13 (NLT)
Bodies, riches and strength fail. Business, buildings and bridges fail. Governments, leaders and pastors fail. Armies, treaties and pledges fail. Families and friendships fail. Visions and knowledge fail.

Before we get too gloomy, let's remember: Almost everything is destined to fail. 'Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow' (Psalm 144:4, NASB). 'The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever' (1 John 2:17, NIV).

Great news! Eternal life in new bodies on a new earth. No sorrow, loss or pain. No predator, prey or death. Instead, glorious unity with our Creator in paradise.

More good news! Even now, love moves mountains, resuscitates hearts and works miracles. Most of us have seen unexplainable wonders.

Here's the problem: Satan wants us to forget the power of love and focus on the bluster of bullies... huffing and puffing on our lives. So let's remind each other every day in every way:

'Thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ' (1 Corinthians 15:17, NASB).

Because love never fails.

Therefore, we love.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
