Making The Move
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
Psalm 75:6 (KJV)
Entertainers in local markets wonder when to take a trip or make a move to a bigger market. Is Hollywood calling? What about New York, Chicago, Paris, or London?
We hear sad songs of big breaks that didn't come or friendly faces taking talent to bad places. We don't want to ride that 'Midnight Train' back to Georgia.
On the other hand, God gives every hero in the Bible a journey to take and a claim to stake-- even a great commission. Jesus says to go out into the world and preach the gospel of salvation. Nowhere today is 'the world' more evident than in entertainment.
God will speak in our hearts if we are to make a move. He will confirm His intentions through believers, His Word, and a series of God-incidents. He will answer the fervent questions of His children who are performers or parents of future stars. In His time, the right doors will open for the journey.
Confusion is not from God. Do your research and wait until your head is clear before making a move. Faith is your ticket, and directions come one step at a time. But, the right agent, manager, or entry will be presented. The right place to stay will be available. The right amount of time will be evident, as will the resources.
When these things are in place, go. Until then...
Wait on the Lord. Trust Him, and He will bring it to pass. He will give you the desires of your heart. Make the move in His time.
