Name Tags: You Are... (Part 10)
Banners & Standard Bearers
The Lord their God will save them in that day,

As the flock of His people.

For they shall be like the jewels of a crown,

Lifted like a banner over His land.

Zechariah 9:16 (NKJV)
O my love, you are as beautiful as Tirzah,

Lovely as Jerusalem,

Awesome as an army with banners!
Song of Solomon 6:3 (NKJV)
One thousand shall flee at the threat of one,

At the threat of five you shall flee,

Till you are left as a pole on top of a mountain

And as a banner on a hill.

Isaiah 30:17 (NKJV)
Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples!
Isaiah 62:10 (NKJV)
Actors, models and talent for Christ: As bright as the sun rising from darkness, as clear as the day when a fog lifts, as fresh as earth's scent after a storm, as sweet as a smile to the lonely, as warm as a handshake to strangers, as strong as a hand up to the weak, as kind as a hand out to the poor, as free as chains unlocked for captives, as sharp as a sword cutting through lies, as sure as Jesus came to save us...

The Lord is raising a new standard, a banner of compelling beauty to herald an age of repentance, to give hope in a mean-hearted world.

Actors, models and talent for Christ, understand; you are the Lord's banner: a flag flying high in glowing truth. You don't wave to condemn anyone, since you realize love conquers all. Instead, you wave to signify God. Where on earth could you be better seen than through the fields of media?

Observers can't help but notice you, which the Lord intended all along. It's the reason He gave you talents.

What many celebrities forget, purposefully--you will remember: fame carries responsibility. Like it or not, stars become shepherds: shepherds to lost lambs seeking green grass. You know where the greenest grass is found--under the Feet of the Great Shepherd.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
