Name Tags: You Are... (Part 18)
God is faithful, by Whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9 (NKJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the Image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Romans 8:28-30 (NKJV)
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12 (NKJV)
What if you got called by a director for the most amazing role of your life? A role designed especially for you; a role bringing joy and satisfaction; a role that would propel you to stardom; a role where you'd never be forgotten...

Would you turn it down in fear of failure? Would you hunker down in fear of moving? Would you refuse the call in fear of change? Would you cry in fear of missing your kin? Would you pause in fear of difficulties?

Or if you accepted your big casting, would you quit when rehearsals took too long? Would you refuse to memorize your lines? Would you drop out when the action got hard? Would you ignore your director's orders?

Actors, models and talent for Christ: This role of a lifetime is now yours. God called you for a great occasion. Even so, consider one more Verse: 'Many are called but few are chosen' (Matthew 22:14).* This draws us to two implications:

1) God desires everyone to be saved.** Therefore, He issues a broad callback. Here's the tough part part: few are chosen. To be chosen, we must be prepared. The Blood of Jesus is the main way. But we must also practice His Lines and follow His crucial directions.

2) You've been called to become role models: God's performers on the world's stages. You represent Light and Hope and Truth. You're standing in for the Star of stars on the platforms of entertainment. Your calling is of great importance, and the consequence of your role is huge.

To Be Continued:

* Short article: What does 'Many are called but few are chosen' in Matthew 22:14 mean?

** We serve a God 'Who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth' (1 Timothy 2:4). See also:;Ezekiel18:23;john3:17&version=NKJV

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
