Name Tags: You Are... (Part 21)
All this is from God, Who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NIV)
Exactly what is an ambassador? An esteemed diplomatic official sent by one government to another for the purposes his ruler decrees. In today key Verses, God's purpose is the message of reconciliation.
So what does reconciliation mean? It's when broken people kiss and make up. It's a renewed union or agreement. It's a restored relationship with God: a much anticipated reunion between a Father and His lost children.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: The Lord allowed modern media to be developed for your entrance. How better to move around the world? But don't forget two crucial duties:
1) To represent Heaven, your true home. It's tempting to think you live on earth, because it's all your body has known. But your spirit, which is eternal, knows its home and longs to return there.
2) To advertise the Kingdom of God. But for an audience to believe in all the advantages of Christ, you must love people like Jesus did... before they'll love Jesus like you do. Most often, words alone won't reach them.
