Name Tags: You Are... (Part 39)
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB)
The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.
Revelation 17:12-14 (NKJV)
Most Christians knows (at least in their minds) that faith is a critical component in walking with Christ and pleasing the Lord. Sadly, some people can fake it at church, ignoring the God Who can't be faked out.

Today's devotion presumes your belief, so it concerns a state of faithfulness, as in utter dependability; as in honoring your obligations; as in keeping a promise when it hurts--not only to God, but also to men.

Certainly, faith in God always comes first, but faith is so powerful it extends itself into all aspects of your life.

Actors, models and talent for Christ, faithfulness covers challenges like...

Following an invisible God; remembering God allows your tests; trusting Him when your life feels broken; allowing Him to right every wrong; preferring Him to loved ones and kin...

Staying married when others divorce; supporting presidents you don't like; respecting parents no matter what; studying when friends are partying; showing up on time to your castings...

Finishing jobs when you say you will; resisting offers for greener grass; refusing to gripe about small things; forgiving when hatred feels valid; moving forward when you think you can't... because you gave your word to do so.

Faithfulness is unreasonable, but unmistakably delightful... And not just before the King you serve, but also before Hollywood's kings.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
