Name Tags: You Are... (Part 51)
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God's promise to Abraham belongs to you.

Galatians 3:26-29 (NLT)
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Romans 8:17 (NLT)
Talk about political correctness or equal rights for all of earth's people, God set the standard a long time ago: a time when women had very few rights, a time when slavery was accepted; a time when leading Jews thought themselves grand; a time of overwhelming prejudice.

But then Jesus came to level the field. He chose untrained players to head His team. Next He chose poor, weak and afflicted Jews. Finally, He invited outsiders... to the utter shock, disdain and disgust of the prevailing administration. He wanted everyone to join His team.

Sadly, not everyone wanted Him back. Nevertheless, for all those who said, Yes!... He treated them like His Own family. Then Christ's equally amazing Father adopted them and made them all His heirs. He gave them (us) rewards beyond measure, superseding every worldly standard.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Through faith and the Blood of your Savior, you're an heir to Abraham's fortune, like fame and blessings uncountable.*

You're also an heir to suffering. Some saints don't want to accept Part 2. But Part 1 (blessings uncountable) is not a stand-alone legacy (to the chagrin of some my kin). Jesus said His followers would suffer. His disciples thought it an honor.**

Although it's not what the world teaches, I pray we see our pain as God does.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
