Name Tags: You Are... (Part 62)
Meek
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5 (NKJV)
Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 11:29 (KJV)
Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.

Numbers 12:3 (KJV)
Meek is a name tag most people disdain. Because they confuse meekness with weakness. They could hardly be further from the truth--literally and symbolically. Because Christ is the Truth and He was meek.

Because meekness is strength under control. Meekness can also mean humility. It's an acknowledgment of our status as useless, helpless and aimless without God.

If Jesus said, 'I can of myself do nothing' (John 5:30), then what on earth do we think we can do?

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Please consider the following points:

1) Meekness invites the Lord to fill you, which means you are more than conquerers: bigger, wiser and more powerful.

2) Meekness invites the Lord to lead you. Sheep are meek, and you're sheep in His fold. Your Shepherd knows the greenest pastures.

3) Hollywood won't understand meekness. In this realm, put on shrewd confidence. Matthew 10:16 is a life-Verse.**

Because you're actors with roles to play.

** 'Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves' (Matthew 10:16).
