Name Tags: You Are... (Part 67)
To you it has been granted to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven...
Matthew 13:11 (NASB)
Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

1 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)
Mysterious is cinematic: a hint that something big is happening; a lead that excites curiosity; a clue that summons investigation; a name tag that invites seekers to find. Put it on with a wise and friendly smile, then watch as people will be drawn to you.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: The greatest mystery books and films can't compare to the Gospel of Christ. To outsiders in the audience, It's either a children's fairytale, a puzzle they can't put together or a secret they would like to know.

And you understand this Whodunit. You've received the world's brightest Answer to the questions of the human heart...

'Why was I born and what should I do?'

'Isn't more out there than what I see?'

So as God's assigned story-tellers, consider one point of performance:

Jesus often spoke in Parables: Stories that gently led eager minds or turned away mockers and critics. Fans who remained in His attendance were the ones destined to understand. He knew some people would walk away.

Therefore, don't expect more than He did. Some skeptics may boo or heckle you. But you're performing for the others: the ones destined to stay through the end.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
