Name Tags: You Are... (Part 75)
Rescued & Saved
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love..
Colossians 1:13 (NKJV)
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9 (NKJV)
If we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord... without a doubt, we are rescued and saved. On the other hand, Satan believes too, and he's painfully aware that Christ rose... but he will never confess Him as Lord.

So we conclude the crucial difference between the devil and us as Christians is the acknowledgement of Christ as Lord. Yet since He saved us from hellish torment... that acknowledgement seems a small thank-You.

Then why do we so frequently buck it? And why do we act like His yoke has spurs? Because it doesn't. It's gentle and light.

I believe the reason we go astray is because we lose sight of our Hero. We forget we would be dead without Him. We get distracted, seduced and star-struck by the fake light and big cons of Satan.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Since you're entering the bling king's den, keep your focus on Christ as your Lord. How?

1. Look at Him daily in the Good Book.
2. Study His Lines as your preferred Script.
3. Find a small group with like-hearted kin.
4. Bow your head and don't get uppity.
5. Remember His Orders and do Them.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
