Name Tags: You Are... (Part 77)
For He made Him Who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
For the Eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His Ears are open to their prayers.
Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.
I can't count the mean arguments I've had based on my certainty of being right. The subject matter varied with the times, but I was passionately positive I was right and the other person wrong.
At the ripening age of 62, I can now say with far more certainty: no one on earth is absolutely right (at least not since Jesus, the Man, went home). Also, no one ever wins stupid fights. Selfish debaters leave empty-hearted.
But now I'm counted in the kin of Christ, and He lets me share in His righteousness. It's a Robe that's clean and comfortable, and It's nothing like proud professing (been there, done that... and there's no good in it).
Here's my take: The greater the intellect, the greater the need for humility.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: Consider how righteousness in Christ differs from worldly struts and sureness:
* It abstains from human arguments and allows God to settle debates.
* It submits to wrongful debasement, knowing that God exalts the humble.
* It doesn't want the applause of men, but only Heaven's celebration.
* It avoids religious division and embraces unity in Christ.
