Name Tags: You Are... (Part 81)
Satisfied & Complete
Of His fullness we have all received...
John 1:16 (NKJV)
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from Whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:14-19 (NKJV)
You are complete in Him.

Colossians 2:10 (NKJV)
Comparing the emptiness people feel to a God-shaped hole in their hearts is true, yet hard for outsiders to understand. It's Christian-ese: a language just for saints.

Sharing the emptiness you used to feel in your desolate B.C. years is good. Confessing hidden struggles builds a bridge between you and those Christ would like to reach.

But if you were raised among joyful kin and haven't known deep spiritual voids, then show Christ through compassionate fullness: a fullness so big it can't be contained.

Like a cup running over with blessings, like a heart flowing with living water, like a storehouse welcoming the hungry, like kind eyes shedding sympathetic tears, like strong arms willing to carry a load, like openhanded generosity or a far-reaching hospitality.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Sharing your talents gives you fullness (while hiding them causes emptiness). Like the fishes and loaves expanding, the more you give, the more you get back. It's a supernatural return that God illustrates repeatedly.

Therefore, give like there's no tomorrow. In this strange process, God's will is done, the lost are found, the empty are filled and your own fullness will never end.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
