Name Tags: You Are... (Part 94)
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same Image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the Image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 8:29 (NKJV)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
We're all in the process of becoming. We might think we're stale, still, safe or the same. But we're not. Instead, we move constantly. It may feel like we're moving in circles with familiar faces, places and paths. But we're not. Instead we are spiraling: quickly or slowly going up or down--toward heaven or the fearful abyss.

To sum it up: we are being transformed. Think about people you've known a long time: perhaps for decades, like old friends or kin. You can literally see their changes:

They're kinder, gentler and more forgiving; they're increasingly thoughtful and helpful. Their lives more closely resemble their Lord's. Prayer: Dear God, help me become more like Your Son. Please humble me and break me if I'm not.

They're meaner, harder and more accusing; they're increasingly grouchy and selfish. Their lives more closely resemble their lord's. Prayer: God forbid I grow to look like Satan. Prayer: Please forgive me and fix me if I am.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Work to form some God-ordained habits to help you become more like Jesus:

1) Study His Word every single day. Ask for wisdom and you'll receive it.

2) Pray, praise and thank Him consistently, especially when it feels harder.

3) Take all complaints directly to Him. Pour out your heart and ask for His help.

4) Maintain a small group of kin or friends, who speak truth, faith and encouragement.

5) Look in the mirror and love yourself. You are increasingly beautiful.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
