One In A Hundred
... there will be more joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:7 (NAS)
How many of us consider ourselves righteous? Consider your answer carefully, because...
We each hope to be that one in a hundred, a.k.a. a sinner who repents.
Because, 'it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one' (Romans 3:10), and Jesus said, 'I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance' (Matthew 9:13).
But proud Christians say, 'I am righteous in Christ.' Pride is the problem. Humility is the answer. Love is the proof.
'He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others' (Luke 18:9), because no one can be counted as a Christ follower without love. The evidence of love is action. So, we must act - each in our assigned fields.
Every day thousands of children lose their innocence by copying the wandering stars of entertainment. They don't know God. So act now.
Actors, models and talent for Christ follow the great commission of Jesus to 'go into all the world' (Mark 16:15), even into Hollywood. The field is enormous; field workers are few.
Imagine the joy in Heaven over the sinners who turn to God from your work in this field, from your performances on camera and off, from your good example.
Therefore, don't sit safe with the 'ninety-nine' who believe they need no repentance. Go help the ones who do.
