Some mocked, while others said, 'We will hear you again on this matter.'... However, some men joined him and believed.
Acts 17:32-34 (NKJV)
Some said, 'He is good'; others said, 'No, on the contrary.'
John 7:12 (NKJV)
Agents have different opinions. I've seen models brought to tears by a cutting remark: 'I hate this picture,' or 'Your look isn't right.' But the next agent may say, 'Wow! Cool.'
Casting directors have different opinions, too. The same monologue might get labeled as 'over the top' or 'flat' or 'spot on'--depending on the person watching it.
As a Man, Jesus was a Lightning Rod. He attracted heated opinions: 'Some of the Pharisees said, 'This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.' Others said, 'How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?' ' (John 9:16).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: expect strong opinions. Because 'To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life' (2 Corinthians 2:16).
On top of the physical aspects of your performance, God's Spirit in you can super-charge a negative or positive reaction. If it's negative, brush the dust off your feet and move on. Never let any man's 'No' stop you.
Because your next audition may bring you the success you seek. When Jesus said, 'Knock, and it will be opened to you' (Matthew 7:7), He didn't say how many times we had to knock. His Own walk of fame brought plenty of rejection letters, but He never stopped until He rose to His destiny.
In terms of opinions, ask the One that matters. Seek to please Him and the outcome of your calling will be unstoppable success.
