Passionate! Like Paul: Performance
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law, that I might win those who are under the Law; to those who are without Law, as without Law (not being without Law toward God, but under Law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without Law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the Gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (NKJV)
Paul was free from all men because He belonged to God. By choice, Paul sold out... to Him: 'Whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ' (Philippians 3:7).

By this sacrifice, Paul was purchased, 'Through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus' (Romans 3:24).

He became a citizen of Heaven, an ambassador for Christ, on a mission of diplomacy to earth's people. In this role, Paul followed his Leader and became His understudy: a worthy performer who took the stage in the Star's absence.

Paul acted his role with versatility and brilliance.

As a tentmaker, he related to laborers: tradesmen who worked with their hands. As a Jew, he related to Jews: sons of Abraham raised in God's Law. As a Pharisee, he related to leaders: prominent men who knew all the rules.

As an outcast, he related to outsiders: pagans who were seen as inferior. As a victim, he related to prisoners: sufferers bound by earth's chains.

Paul was an actor. He became all things to all men that he might by all means save some.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: The Apostle Paul became famous for God. He was relatable. He met people where they were. His stages were streets, fields, halls, temples, houses, prisons and courtrooms. He influenced, performed, persuaded, debated, corrected, encouraged and embraced.

Now we're in the latter days of the church, and God has allowed the growth of a monster called media: communication devices that cover the earth and connect its peoples. The news and entertainment industries have raised celebrities who carry more power than governments. Even so...

What the enemy intended for harm, 'God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives' (Genesis 50:20). Enter Stage Right: actors, models and talent for Christ. Like Paul, you are relatable. You meet people where they are. You perform on the screens they hold in their hands.

## Passionate! Like Paul: Performance (Part 10)

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2015 series called, 'Paul's Powerful Priorities.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
