Paul's Powerful Priorities (Part 3)
Prayer
Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Luke 5:16 (NIV)
Without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers.
Romans 1:9 (NKJV)
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)
Like the King he served, Paul was a man of prayer. He prayed for his brethren: 'Without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day' (2 Timothy 1:3). He told us to pray for each other: 'With this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints' (Ephesians 6:18).

He told us to pray for everyone: 'That supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men' (1 Timothy 2:1). He told us to pray in peace: 'Lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension' (1 Timothy 2:8); in self-denial: 'Give yourselves to fasting and prayer' (1 Corinthians 7:5).

He told us to pray for his ministry: 'Brethren, pray for us' (1 Thessalonians 5:25). He told us where to pray: 'In every place' (1 Timothy 2:8). He told us how to pray: 'I bow my knees to the Father' (Ephesians 3:14). He told us when to pray: 'Always' (Philemon 1:4), 'Continuing steadfastly' (Romans 12:12), 'Being vigilant' (Colossians 4:2), and 'Without ceasing' (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Actors, models and talent for Christ: 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus' (Philippians 4:6-7).

Among Paul's powerful priorities, prayer was near the top, because prayer reaches the Top. God says the prayers of His saints are like 'Golden bowls full of incense' (Revelation 5:8). 'For the Eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him' (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Actors, models and talent for Christ: As strangers in the strange land of entertainment, consider prayer a lifeline to your homeland. If Heaven holds your citizenship, prayer provides your diplomatic counsel.

If God is your Father, prayer welcomes His Fatherly guidance; if God is your Protector, prayer alerts His warrior angels; if God is your Provider, prayer requests His exceeding abundance; if God is your Director, prayer respects His performance advice.
