Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk.
We know Jesus is the Way, and the way is hard. We must follow His lead, carry a cross, cover the earth, communicate love... and smile in the process--because Good News requires a smile.
We must risk our lives to find His peace. To sit in safety is not our commission. We must move.
But it's how we move that matters most: not how fast, how far or how high--but how we look in the process. Not only does God watch every step we take, so do 'A great cloud of witnesses' (Hebrews 12:1).*
Actors, models and talent for Christ: consider yourselves high fashion models on a runway. God invented style and Jesus perfected it. Eventually, your walk will be perfected, too.. if you practice every day. Therein, 'Rise up and walk' (Luke 5:23), and...
'Walk at liberty' (Psalm 119:45).
'Walk as children of light' (Ephesians 5:8).
Walk blamelessly (see Luke 1:6).
'Walk orderly' (Acts 21:24).
'Walk humbly' (Micah 6:8).
'Walk prudently' (Ecclesiastes 5:1).
'Walk by faith, not by sight' (2 Corinthians 5:7), 'That you may walk worthy of the Lord' (Colossians 1:10).
'Walk in truth' (3 John 1:4).
'Walk in love' (Ephesians 5:2).
'Walk in newness of life' (Romans 6:4).
'Walk in the Law' (Psalm 119:1).
'Walk in the Spirit' (Galatians 5:16).
'Walk in His ways' (Deuteronomy 8:6).
'Walk just as He walked' (1 John 2:6).
'Walk after the Lord your God' (Deuteronomy 13:4).
'Walk worthy of the calling with which you were called' (Ephesians 4:1).
'Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside' (Colossians 4:5).
'Walk through the valley of the shadow of death' (Psalm 23:4).
'Walk through the fire' (Isaiah 43:2).
'Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you' (Deuteronomy 31:6).
'As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore' (Psalm 125:2)...
In the narrow climb is the highest style.
## Practice Makes Perfect: A Narrow Climb (Part 9)
* All Bible quotes within the body of this devotion are NKJV.
NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2014 series called, 'Practice Makes Perfect.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.
P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Practice Makes Perfect series.
