Prayer (Part 3, Conclusion)
A Performer's Prayer
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV)
Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, 'Lord, teach us to pray.'
Luke 11:1 (NKJV)
Based on The Lord's Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2) and the Word of God is this prayer to our Father:

A Prayer for Actors, Models, and Talent for Christ

Our Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your Name:

The Lord of Hosts, the Holy Spirit, and our Savior, Jesus Christ,

And at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in Heaven,

And of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done,

In arts, entertainment, and media, as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily provision. Increase our vision. Help us rise to share it.

Forgive us our debts and sins. Thank You for making us clean.

Help us clean film, fashion, music, and theater in Your Name,

With love and without condemnation.

Help us become lights on the hills of Hollywood.

We forgive our debtors and all who have sinned against us,

Because we hope they find life and peace in You.

And do not lead us into temptation,

As we walk in the valley of the shadow of death:

A field filled with lust and idols.

But You are with us,

And we know everyone who calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved.

Open searching eyes and ears to your sweet sound, Lord Jesus.

Deliver us from the evil one;

In Your Name he has no power over us,

Because it is we who have power over him.

We fight in Your army as entertainers of light,

As actors, models, and talent for Christ.

We thank You for our lives, our gifts, and our mission,

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
