Promises & Blessings: From Moses To Us
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the Voice of the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 28:2 (NKJV)
The Lord says our blessings will chase us down: 'A good blessing will come upon them' (Proverbs 24:25); 'There shall be showers of blessing' (Ezekiel 34:26); 'That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus' (Galatians 3:14).

We don't chase the good life. It chases us.

As Christians, we receive God's promises to His children in Deuteronomy, Chapter 28, 'If you diligently obey the Voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His Commandments' (v.1).

To quote a few:

'Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country' (v.3).

'Blessed shall be the fruit of your body' (v.4).

'Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out' (v.6).

'The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face' (v.7).

'The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand' (v.8).

'The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand' (v.12).

'And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath' (v.13).

The devil would like for us to forget God's utterly true and glorious Words. He tempts us with the flimsiest tinsel... mostly made in a place called Tinseltown.

So, let's remember our inheritance, when we 'Heed the Commandments of the Lord... and are careful to observe Them' (v.13).

## Promises & Blessings: From Moses To Us (Part 3)

NOTE: This is a 2021 update of a 2011 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
