Proverbs For Performers (Part 20)
Re-Blazing His Trails
I have taught you in the way of wisdom;

I have led you in right paths.

When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,

And when you run, you will not stumble...

Do not enter the path of the wicked,

And do not walk in the way of evil.

Avoid it, do not travel on it;

Turn away from it and pass on...

But the path of the just is like the shining sun,

That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day...

Let your eyes look straight ahead,

And your eyelids look right before you.

Ponder the path of your feet,

And let all your ways be established.

Do not turn to the right or the left;

Remove your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:11-12, 14-15, 18, 25-27 (NKJV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
John the Baptist blazed a trail for Jesus. He was an eccentric non-conformist, fearlessly denouncing the religious hypocrisy that governed God's people. John served as the Rock Star's opening act: 'Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight' (Mark 1:3).

John roused, preached and warmed up the audience. He immersed them in The Lord's forgiveness. He readied them for a greater baptism. He became famous, but gave fame away, when the Son of Glory stepped on the stage.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: You are The Lord's modern trailblazers. What John the Baptist did the first time, you can do before He comes again. Evidenced by the earth's deep darkness, an excellent backdrop has been set.

The Light you bear can be clearly seen amidst a culture of corruption. But instead of a solo preacher, this time He's called up a mighty choir: an army of singers tuned to Him, raising hope and bringing harmony.

Because discordant, self-professed saints have ranted and raved some strident notes. Instead of opening hearts with love, they're slamming outsiders with judgment. Instead of following their Leader, they're howling wolves on a broader path.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Your job is to clear up confusion. By your straight walk, kind talk and clean acts, you trample Satan and bring new fans for the great finale soon to come.

To Be Continued...

* John fulfilled what Isaiah and Malachi prophesied earlier:

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
