Proverbs For Performers (Part 33)
God Lovers In Church
I love those who love Me;
And those who diligently seek Me will find Me...
To endow those who love Me with wealth,
That I may fill their treasuries.
Proverbs 8:17,21 (NASB)
He who has My Commandments and keeps Them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.
John 14:21 (NASB)
For Christians, Jesus is our greatest Wealth, and His Spirit is our greatest Treasure. The vault He desires to fill is our heart. Because with a peaceful and joyful heart, life's hardest trials and tests are met with grace. But without a peaceful and joyful heart, earth's wealthiest people still feel empty.

When Proverbs says God loves those who love Him, does God also love those who don't love Him?* Consider some Yes and No evidence. Yes, God sent Jesus because He loves us. Yes, God loves us when we don't deserve it. No, God's Word says He hates evildoers. No, He doesn't gift those who disobey.

If love is an action of show and tell, if God is the highest Action Hero, then we might call Him the Supreme Mover. If God loves those who act on His behalf, if He rewards them with abundant life, then shouldn't we follow Jesus daily, giving more than a 1% effort?**

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Here's a big thing I love about you: You're movers, shakers and performers. You're not just talking about Jesus. You're waking out His Great Commission. You may play like a star on TV, but you're acting Him out in real life.

As for the pretty Sunday people who aren't so pretty on other days, show them how a Christian really loves. Because showing comes before telling.

To Be Continued...

* Excellent short article: Does God love everyone or just Christians?

* Another excellent short article: Does God hate? If God is love, how can He hate?

* Another excellent short article: Are Jews saved because they are God's chosen people?

* Another excellent short article: Will all Israel be saved in the end times?

** If a week has 168 hours, and if we average 2 hours a week in church, if the rest of the time we're enmeshed in worldly concerns, then we're actively loving God for 1.19% of our time, which hardly makes His Commission our focus.
